our history

In 1942, Wilhelm Leo Kaufmann founded the company. The motivation was personal: during a hike, he lost his watch when the leather strap broke. This experience inspired him to create better, more durable straps. What began with simple belts soon evolved into a specialized manufactory for high-quality watch straps. The workshop grew, attracting customers from both domestic and international markets

Family Business

Today, the family business is led by Cornelius Kaufmann, supported by his daughter Marie Louise Kaufmann. Together, they preserve the company's traditional values while integrating modern approaches. By combining proven craftsmanship with innovative ideas, they create products that are both timeless and contemporary. Their commitment to the highest quality and attention to detail is evident in every single product that leaves the manufactory.

our philosophy

Our products are not created by chance – they are the result of conviction, responsibility, and decades of experience. We believe in craftsmanship with soul. Every step is carried out in Germany by trained professionals with great attention to detail. We produce in small series – quality takes precedence over quantity. Our leather comes from controlled breeding farms, and we focus on sustainable processes with a long-term perspective. ;

our craftsmanship

A Kaufmann strap is created by many hands—but never on an assembly line.
From the first cut to dyeing to the renowned saddle stitch, we work with traditional tools
and techniques. This stitch is more than decoration—it symbolizes our heritage and represents true durability.

Quality That Endures

Our products are made for people who seek authenticity. They don't just wear our straps —
they live with them. Whether classic, modern, or custom-made: a product from Kaufmann is always a statement—for time, style, and origin.
